Just Waylon

My little man seems to be growing up faster and faster these days...I wanted to share with you all that he has been doing and accomplishing over the past few weeks and months. I had posted a while ago that I was working on letters with him this year. Well it started off a little as a struggle, but the light has come on and he is picking them up really well. I had won this free curriculum from another blog and this is what we are using for our letters each week. I love it and will be saving as much as I can for Toni later.

Waylon is already up to the letter "Gg" this week. We start out the week with reading some words that begin with the letter and there is a picture included this is how he "reads" them. We also do an online book and he traces the capital and lower case letters as well. Then while he is at Brandy's during the week he does some crafts with each of the letters as well.

Waylon can now recognize all the letters we have done so far and by far his favorite is the capital "A" He points out all the capital A's everywhere and makes them with whatever he can. I have even caught him drawing them in the air and saying "down, down and across" He is constantly asking me about different words and what letter they start with...most of the time he figures it out on his own. I know he is smart, but watching him begin to read and write with these letters at just a little over 3 confirms that he is VERY smart. I mean just look at how well he holds the marker in the picture!
Waylon has also spent a lot of his time coloring and mostly painting. He LOVES to paint. We have done a couple of crafts that require paint, like painting a car or doing suncatchers. However, overall he really loves to just paint on blank pages or coloring pages. He has been at the table engaged in painting for up to 40-45 minutes at a time. Waylon is very articulate at this as well, and always so proud of his work. Our fridge is covered at the end of every week, with letters and painting that we have to clear it off every weekend.

The last thing that Waylon is Really into right now is "singing" He picks up all kinds of songs right now. Yesterday I caught him singing his room with his train whistle in his hand and I started video taping him and he never stopped. What a performer!!! I love it when he sings the country songs because he has that "twang" down to a science. Hmmm I wonder if I have my own Kenny Chesney growing up over here...Maybe I should get him a guitar??
This video was too cute not to share, especially since his second biggest fan Toni was sitting her bumbo watching him down below, he even checks every now and again to make sure she is still watching. Cute kid!
Waylon I am so proud of you, and love watching you grow into an amazing little man. You are so smart and truly a wonderful "person" Mommy loves every day more and more.

Little Miss Toni in her Halloween onesie...and her official 3 month shot! Love that hair, seriously it is always like that it just stands up all on its own. Totally makes her even cuter than she already is. :-)

If this picture does not scream Waylon to you, then I don't know what will. He can be such a goofball and his contagious laugh is one that should be bottled up and sold to put you in a great mood!

This is one of those classic shots, where I was trying to get that amazing super cute picture and instead I get something like this? They do love each other so much they just don't show it in my pictures yet.

Then here is one of the first pictures of Connor and Toni together...Of course Waylon is there to watch carefully over his sister. Look at that amazing smile! Connor looks like he is dancing!

More to come on my super smart Waylon. He is doing amazing with his letters..started off slow in August, but he has the hang of it now and we are on letter F this week. I will post some letter things next week when we do G for ghost!!!! Fun....

3 months old

Yesterday little Miss Toni turned 3 months old! She is doing wonderful and is such a happy little girl. The things I have enjoyed so much this month with her is her smile! Although it took me most of the month to capture it, it is still my favorite part of her. How could you not love this!

This is a picture of Toni with Gammie! How she got her to smile like that and take a picture, I have no idea....just goes to show how much fun she had at her first official "sleepover." :-)

She is beginning to sleep more through the night, but we are not there yet, probably another month. She takes several naps throughout the day and then usually goes to bed about 8-9 at night. Once she is down, (which has been amazingly easy) she does not wake up again for about 6 hours. Then about 3 or 4 AM she wakes up and is so happy to see you, eats with her eyes closed, burps on cue and goes right back to sleep! (hopefully I am not jinxing this?)

Toni loves to be with us in whatever we are doing. She is very observant and loves to watch what is going on around her. She enjoys songs over at Brandy's and when she is being held by anyone, she prefers to face out so that she can see what is happening. Toni still cuddles and falls asleep on many family members still too, when she is just so exhausted any place will do. She fell asleep this morning at Aunt Heather's garage sale in Grandma's arms just perfectly for a while. She has seen a lot of family and friends this month, and loves them all.

She holds her head up really well and loves to "talk" to whomever will listen. She coos and smiles with the best of them. She has giggled a couple of times, but I have yet to find that one thing that will make her giggle and giggle. I can't wait to find that! She eats pretty much however much she wants, this is something she is not consistent on. Sometimes she will eat 4 oz and other times it will be 8oz.

Toni is so beautiful both inside and out and we love more every day. Waylon continues to be so gentle with her and a perfect big brother. Here are some fun pictures of them together~Enjoy our 3 month baby girl! This is just my FAVORITE picture of my kids yet...I just laugh every time~
