Valentine's Day Weekend

Happy Valentine's Day Weekend!

I love this weekend, because usually it is a long weekend and Jake is usually home. This was one of those weekends. It started with our neighbor Jason's 5th birthday party. Last year Jason had a huge bounce house and Waylon had a blast. This year, Waylon was super excited to see another bounce house. We went over and watched the bounce house go up for the day and were able to bounce for over an hour before we were off to our next event for the day.

Then we went to a family picnic were I got only a few pictures of Waylon at the park. Waylon got a special car and a great book that he loves from Grandma for Valentine's Day.

We tried to come home and do a nap, but it was a no go even though he was super tired. He fought it and won....so off to the next event...Caramba's with my family...It was good had by all...I am waiting for some pictures from my sister and can post more on that night later....But my aunt and uncle were told it was a GIRL that night so it was fun!
Valentine's Day

This was fun because Waylon was totally into my fun this year. I made fun pink heart chocolate chip pancakes, pink milk and sausage for breakfast. I even let him have the last cup of jello because it was red. Boy did he think that was great! Then I gave him two cars for his special treat. Then later Waylon and I made some heart shaped brownies to have later that day. Once daddy was up and about, we made lunch and headed to the airport for lunch. This is one of daddy and Waylon's favorite things to do, go watch planes. The rest of the day was pretty low key, thank goodness. Waylon and I went to the park and then just hung out with daddy. We made steak and potatoes for dinner and just enjoyed our V-day with the 3 of us. :-)
More Valentine Fun

The fun did not stop here..Oh no... :-) We went to Brandy's house on Tuesday and all the kiddo's from Brandy's had done a Valentine exchange on Friday. Since Waylon is not usually there on Friday's I did not think much of it. He was sooooo excited... I mean Christmas morning kind of excited when he saw all the things the other kids had brought for him. He got everything from cool glasses, candy, stickers, and bubbles from his "friends" Brandy even said that with each kiddo that came on Monday to her house he immediately went up and Thanked them for their special treats.

So we went to the store and picked up special treats for his friends, from Waylon. Again, he was so excited to do this. Waylon is a pretty thoughtful little guy. He then shared them with everyone today and was just to cute in showing everyone. Wish I would have taken pictures of that. :-)

Hope you all had a great weekend with those you love! We sure did...

Well here SHE is....Our ultrasound was today and went very smoothly. Waylon and Jake were both with me and we were able to see our baby GIRL...This is kind of a looking right at you picture of her. You should be able to see one eye pretty clearly and then her nose and mouth..and a little of her hand moving around. The ultrasound tech said she is sticking her tongue out, but I do not see that. :-) She currently weighs about 10 oz. and is still currently due on the 7th or 8th of July!

Her name is Antoinette Dawn Pickard. We will call her Toni. She (like her brother was) will be named after her great grandparent. My grandmother Toni Burris, my mothers mom, has always been a name I wanted for a little girl. Courtney and I had many talks about who would get that name for their little girl...How it truly came about I do not really know, I just know it was a peaceful decision between Courtney and I. (thank you!)
So we continue to wait and pray for her. It was so wonderful seeing her today and gave me true peace. My mom let me wear one of my grandmothers rings for today and it made me very calm and strong today...not one tear...well until I called mom!!! They were all tears of JOY... We can not wait to meet you baby girl...can not wait...

Keep us in your thoughts as we are nearly halfway through...
Love,
The Pickard's

Waylon Fun and Baby Update

We got a large box the other day from diapers I had ordered. I had forgotten what fun BIG boxes can be. After the box had been sitting on the floor for a few days Waylon and I had a great time making this BIG box in to a Fast race car. He LOVES it and plays in it a lot. He is so imaginative right now and plays so well it is fun to just watch him play. I can't wait until he has a sibling for him to play with all the time, What FUN!!!

Baby Update...

Today was my apt. with my Dr. Everything went fine!! Phew big sigh of relief. I miss being pregnant and not worrying so much. These apts. right now are short and sweet because they basically just ask how you are feeling, measure you and then listen to the heart beat. After some searching we did hear the heartbeat, baby was just hanging up higher than my Dr. was looking for. The heart beat was nice and strong! We are scheduled for an ultra sound real soon, to find out what we are having!!! I was not expecting this until the next apt. but they said within the week or two to get one done. So this falls on perfect timing, because Jake goes out of town real soon and will be here for our ultrasound we have scheduled for next Friday the 12th! We should know what our little "munchkin" is real soon. It makes no difference what so ever to me, just as long as everything is in it's place and growing perfectly. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts as we are just a few weeks of being 1/2 there... (WOW) but still so far to go and still a very worried and anxious mama over here. Everyday is such a gift and I am grateful EVERY day.

This is not the best picture, but is for those of you :-) needing see the growing belly. This was taken Sunday so I was just a little over 17 weeks. I am 18 weeks today. :-)

Fry's & Safeway Finds this week

Last week Fry's was the place to be and I did well. This week I did better (and could have done a little better had I not missed a small detail, oh well I am not complaining for 77% savings) I also went to Safeway and picked up several items and got a steal there. (88% savings) This makes my total grocery savings average for the year so far 70%. That is Amazing!!!

Fry's is still doing a sale similar to what is was last week. Buy any 10 participating items and then you get $5 off at the register. I had some more coupons, and with it being the beginning of the month many of my coupons I get online were restocked and I was able to print more of them. This trip was great because I got all of these items for Free!!! I love it.

4 containers of Wholly Guacamole (on sale for $1 each and I had 4 of the $1 off coupons=FREE)

2 packages of Goldfish (found a coupon from another blog for $0.75 off one, so I was able to print two of these, they were originally $0.88 this week= FREE)
2 packages of sausage (another set of coupons that I had printed several weeks ago and knew these would go on sale- they did making them FREE as well.)
Then I was able to get all these other items as well. The picture includes my free items too. My total spending for all these items was $19.34. I saved 77% or $62.65/ I mean really who would have spent that in real life for that stuff?
I did a quick run to Safeway this morning. Usually I do not have a lot of luck with Safeway because it never turns out the way I plan it to and I tend spending more than I would like. This time it worked perfectly and I saved a lot. All of these items I bought for $0.50 each or $0.25.

I had to buy 4 of each of these items in order to get these great prices, and then I used 4 manufacture coupons with each item. That is what made this such a great deal. Normally, they will not let you do more than 3, but this time it worked! Yeah!

I bought 4 of the Nature Valley at $1.50 each and had a coupon for each at $0.40 off and then they matched it to $1 off making each box $0.50

Then I basically did the same with the Ragu but these were $1.25 each. So after my coupons it made each of them only $0.25 each!

My total was $3.00 for all of this. That was 85% savings... Now would you have spent $16.92 for all the items above? That is what my savings was on the receipt.

My pantry is getting stocked again....I love it...
