Just Waylon 3 1/2 years old

There are so many things I love so much about Waylon and after narrowing my list and writing these in no particular order, here is JUST WAYLON for you to enjoy!

One thing I think about first when I think about Waylon is coloring!  This kiddo LOVES to color.  He has about 7 coloring books and to look at the pages he did when he first started coloring a lot, to now, it is truly amazing at just how great he is at this task.  I mean not to completely brag but seriously I have a few third graders that do not color as nicely as him.  He stays in the lines and and colors many objects the colors they are supposed to be.  He also loves to make things colorful, so if it has a lot of potential to be colorful that is his first choice to color.
Another thing that I love about him is how wonderful he is at being a big brother.  I knew when I was pregnant with Toni that he would be good at it, but I truly had no idea he would be this good.  Not once has he ever said things like "take her back or I don't want her anymore."  He truly Loves her more and more everyday just like the rest of us.  He helps whenever he can to play with her on the floor or to give her toys throughout the whole day.  Thank goodness he is such a great big brother because she adores him and watches him more carefully than me most times.

Waylon has been working on his alphabet since the first of the school year and continues to amaze me at this topic too.  Each week we start a new letter and we really do not spend a whole lot of time with it but he does at Brandy's during the week (and by that I mean the 2 1/2 days he is there).  Well, it is really sinking in with him because last night I was pointing to different letters and he knew what they all were.  I am so proud of him and am really hoping to start some pre reading skills this summer with him.

Puzzles are another fun thing that he enjoys doing and is getting better at them every day.  He has several puzzels that I would say are on the medium side.  He does them well with just verbal help.  He listens very well at directions and knows that all the flat pieces go first and then we work on the inside pieces.  He can remember what the picture looks like after only doing it maybe once or twice.
With that said his memory is another thing that impresses me daily.  Just a few weeks ago we saw my cousin Eric and his two sons, whom Waylon has not seen since April.  Waylon proceeds to tell me that yes he remembers Ethan (Eric's son) because they road on a train together.  I had to really think about it and then remembered that we had gone to the Train Park with the whole family and that the boys had indeed road the train together.  This is just one of MANY examples of his amazing memory, let's just say I really need to be careful about everything I say and do because he remembers them all.
The last thing I will leave you with about Waylon is his fashion right now.  Waylon has always been really good at knowing what goes with what and dresses himself well. I guess that is where his memory comes in to play.  However, lately his trend has been backwards, literally.  He puts on either his shirt or pants and sometimes both on backwards.  Most of the time it does not bother me unless we are going somewhere, then I have to talk him into changing a little. What cracks me up with this his whole reasoning in why he is backwards for the day as everyday there is a different method to his maddness.  The other day he told me he was a race car and his shirt needed to be on backwards so that people could see him when he passed by them so fast.  He had a Lightning McQueen  shirt on. (I know right, he only has 90% of them in his wardrobe)
Waylon is such an amazing 3 almost 4 year old who amazes me daily and makes me laugh so much throughout our days together.  I really wish I could bottle up each and every memory I make with him as they are always my best medicine for the day!  I love you handsome boy and mommy is and always will be so proud of you!

Toni is 6 Months

Half of the year has gone by already!!! Really??? She was 6 months old on New Year's Day.  She has done a lot this month to show how much she is growing.

Right before Christmas break she finally began sleeping through the night.  We did the "cry out" method and decided that this was the best time.  Like my best friend said it only took 4 days!!! Should have done it earlier too, I was so worried about Waylon's sleep, but it never even bothered nor woke him up at all. Yeah!  So she is finally sleeping well and through the night.  Now the past week we have had a little bit of teething trouble but nothing we are worried about and she really has only had one night that has been bad so far.  For the most part she wakes up and cries for only a few minutes and then goes back to sleep without us having to get up to check on her.

She is spending some good quality time with her cousin Connor who seems to be catching up to her even though she is 10 weeks older.

Another thing she is doing so well is eating.  I have made pears, apples, peas, squash, bananas and sweet potatoes and she has eaten them all.  So for the time being with my time off and good sale timing she is stocked up with food in the freezer for a while.  I am really enjoying that the the food she is eating is homemade by mommy!  She eats barley and about 6-8 oz of formula about 4 times a day.

Toni is beginning to roll over.  I don't want to say she does it all the time yet, but she does know how.  She does not get a lot of time on the floor, but the past two weeks with Mommy being home and life slowing down, she had a lot more time on the floor and is doing well with it.

She is grabbing things and beginning to play with objects more too.  I love to watch her watch her world.  She LOVES to be where ever we are and especially LOVES her brother.  He is more fun than I am most days for her.  She wants to watch him and have me hold her.  I guess she is pretty smart, because she is asking for the best of both worlds right?  Speaking of grabbing things...she is getting the hang of holding on to her bottle more too...She gets very impatient when her timer goes off to eat inside of her.  No matter how hard I try I am NEVER fast enough for her...so she typically gets her bottle while I am making the rest of her food...(and I am just defrosting it)..she is catching on that if she wants to eat RIGHT NOW it is up to her to get that bottle to her mouth. :-)
Christmas night we came home and her outfit was a mess, all she had to do was eat before bath...so I had her finish in just her diaper.  Surprisingly she was warm..NOT like her Mommy there.
My sweet baby and her 6 month Happy photo...Brother was out on a quad ride with daddy when we did this one, so no pics of the two of them on her actual 6 month. Notice the cute bows she is starting to wear too thanks to Aunt Courty.. Thanks

She has a little bear like Waylon. She is really starting to love her "Missy Bear" Waylon picked this out for her and brought it to her the day he came to meet her at the hospital.  He loves her so much and even told me today, "Mommy I am so glad we have a Baby."

We ALL Love YOU so much baby girl and are so very proud of everything you have done this month.  So she went to the Dr. today and she is weighing in at 17.8 pounds! ( I was exactly right!) and then she went through a growth spurt and is now 27 inches long!  Last time she was 24.  She got 4 shots in her leg and one oral one.  Within those shots she also got her first flu shot. Dr. seemed pretty satisfied with her development but wants to start watching her on sitting up soon with little support. Sooo more time on the floor for us!
