Almost Free at Albertson's

Well even though it was my first week back, I still managed to get some coupon time in this week. I could have done really well, but my computer seems to have caught a virus (a bad one) from one of my coupon sites...oh no...!! So I guess it is a huge sign that I need to not click on every possible coupon link. I hate not having my computer!!! It is scary to think how we need them so much.

Alright, Albertson's this week is having another great sale. Some items are $0.79,$0.99 and $1.49. So I looked through my coupons and was able to get every item above for about $6.00 and used a coupon for all the items except the grapes. This week so many of the items on smartsource.com had coupons for the items that were in these groups at Albertson's. My computer started crashing during the time I was printing these coupons, but it was a sad day because they never did print out and the computer crashed!

I got some items for Free... the Bic Pens were on sale for $0.50 each and I had a coupon for $1 off when you buy 2. So that made them FREE! Then at a seperate run I had gone to CVS to make some prints and I had a coupon for $1 off candy bars when you buy two and this week they were $0.50 each, so I had two of those coupons....so the 4 in the picture I got all for FREE..
The rest of the items I got for really cheap, like I said, I had great coupons for all the items. So even though the items I bought were all ready cheap I had coupons from as high as $1 off or as low as $0.50 off. So the items rang up for $0.49 each or less.
The Chex Mix was $0.79 I had a $0.50 off so it was $0.29
The super yummy gronala clusters were $1.49 and I had a $1.00 so that made them $0.49
Brownie bowls were $0.99 each and I had 2 $0.50 off and 1 $0.40 off so that made 2 of them $0.49 each and the other one $0.59
The Pasta Salad was $0.79 and I had a $0.50 off coupon so that made it only $0.29 for the box.
Yoplait yogurt was $1.49 I had $1.00 off so that made the 2 I bought $0.49 each
Fiber One yogurt was the same $1.49 w/ a $1.00 off making it also $0.49
Then the grapes were on sale for $0.77 lb. I spent $1.78 on them.
My Total at Albertsons was $6.27 my total savings on this trip was $37.69 which was 84%!!!!!

1st Day of School

I can not believe it is that time of year already!!! This year Waylon was off to his new sitter Brandy. Waylon had spent some time with Brandy the weeks prior to school, so the first full day was not bad at all. I even did ok.

Waylon has spent the past two years with my mom "Gammie" on the days that I worked. Gammie usually only watches the little ones up to age 2 and now that Waylon is already past 2 it was time for him to start a new place. This was hard for all of us. Waylon loves going to Gammie's house and has such a great relationship with her that I was not sure I was going to find anything better. Well we could never replace Gammie, but we found a great fit for him.

Late in the school year last year, I recieved an e-mail about someone who was interested in providing a preschool/daycare in their home for the upcoming school year...so after a lot of research and visiting time with Brandy, we decided this was the next step for Waylon.
Brandy has two children that attend the school I teach at and she lives less than a mile away from school. I love that Waylon is so close to me while I am at work. Brandy does a wonderful job with Waylon and has 3 or 4 other children there too they are all close in age. She has a lunch menu and lesson plans out everyday so I know what Waylon has learned that day. Waylon really enjoys Brandy and her family...but he misses Gammie, because he often will ask if we can go see Gammie and Archer (one of the little boys she watches)

Summer is Over!

Well summer is officially over and I am back at work. :-( This year was different than most years and I have Waylon to thank for that. Usually, over the summer I spend a lot of time thinking and planning about what I am going to do during the upcoming school year. Well, this year I did only a couple of hours the entire summer of work, and it was organizing a binder or two.

Waylon definately kept me busy during the summer this year. Looking back at all my blogs you can see why..we did a lot...the zoo, camping, tot town, busy bodies, a fire station tour and so many other fun days...I even managed to get a mini vacation in with Jake. All in all it was a great summer and of course it went by fast!

A couple of weeks ago, Hailey and I went back to the classroom with Sherri (my co-teacher) and we managed to set up our new classroom in a day. I was so excited to have that task done and out of the way before I actually went back to work. You know how it is, you show up with your own list of things to do and then they give you a list that is twice as long....so I was so happy to have it set up.

During our last weekend Waylon continued to ask daddy to go "camping" so we went on a quad ride one morning and he thought we were camping. It was too cute! Just north of our house are some great places to ride our quad and there was actually water flowing in one of the river beds below. This made for a perfect end to our "camping" trip because we took a little dip in the water to cool off. I know we are real high class, but Waylon loved it and that is what counts.

So good bye to summer days...I love them...now more than ever. Waylon kept me super busy and I am going to miss him when I go back to work. Ahhhh long Sigh........

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday was this week and we celebrated BIG! Courtney and I had been planning a kind of surprise party for mom and I think we pulled it off well. We had told my mom that we were taking her to dinner, but we did not tell her where, and we were not real clear on the guest list either. Well, after a lot of planning and moving things around to keep her guesssing, I was pretty sure she knew by the time the night had arrived. We took her to the Toby Keith bar in Mesa and she was thrilled and had a great time.

We did manage to surprise her with a friend of hers from Camelback who was able to make it. She was super shocked to see her sitting at the table. That was awesome.

My mom is the best and deserved a great party and I think we did well at getting that for her. We love you mom and l I ove you tons and tons. I have learned so much from my mom and hope that I can be as great of a mom as she is to us. :-) Happy Birthday.

A trip to the Fire Station

We went with our neighbor ( and some of her friends) to take a tour of the fire station last week and had a great time. We were able to see the inside of the fire station and see how they live while they are working. The guys have a huge game room where they can relax with each other. Each guy gets there own chair, and I mean the nice recliner ones.. Then off the game room is a huge kitchen that has 3 huge refrigerators and a super nice grill outside. A man's paradise kitchen. Then each fire fighter has there own room to sleep in when they need to on their shift. There was also a really nice weight room for them.

Then the fun part. We saw the trucks! We were able to climb in a check them out. Unfortunately, Waylon wanted nothing to do with them even though he had talked about the trucks all morning. Hailey and I did not let that stop us from checking them out, we each climbed and took a picture of us in the truck :-)

Then the fire fighter talked to the kids about fire safety and wanted to show them his whole suit. The fire fighter was great, he did not get dressed to fast and he kept showing the kids his face so they would not get scared. That was wonderful, because Waylon has a little thing with masks, but he did wonderful this time. I was worried that when he came around to shake every one's hand (to show them he was not scary) that Waylon would not do it.. But HE DID!! I guess I was OK with him liking the fire fighter and not being afraid even though he would not get in the fire truck.

What a great tour! Hot, but fun.
