Happy Easter

What a busy Easter we had this year, but as always it was filled with family and lots of fun!  Waylon and I started by making an Easter bunny cake.  This was a cake I remember my mom making once or twice when I was a kid and now I know why ;-)
This was round two of the cake, the first one crumbled when I pulled it out of the cake pans and I really thought I was going to cry. Luckily I had bought two cake mixes and was able to make another shortly after the crumble of the first. So while Waylon and Toni napped this day, I cut it out and put the frosting on. (which was not very fun to do) I also got all the icing such as the whiskers, his coconut ears and nose put together so that Waylon just had to put the jellybeans on.  Boy oh boy did he put the jeallybeans on.
This was Waylon's cake and he did great!

Next it was time to paint eggs. Waylon did this almost all by himself this year.  He was able to get them out of the cups using the dippers pretty much on his own.  Well his tongue sticking out helped some too I am sure.
Then he carefully took stickers and made a belt around each of the eggs.  This took him a long time and was all his idea. Again, he did great. This is one of his 6-7 eggs he did.
Here are Toni and Waylon's baskets! I love the Easter bunny, each year he knows exactly what to give my kids and as always this year did another great job.
Toni got a duck with two books that she is loving because they have pictures of kitties in them and she also got one egg filled with her favorite snacks (little puffs!)
Waylon got A LOT! He got eggs filled with jeallybeans and M & M's he also got a bunny, toy car, toy plane, fruit snacks, a pirate coloring book and a Chocolate Bunny!
Waylon barely made it in to get me at 6:45 in the morning before he ran to the basket and saw he had a Pirate coloring book and then he was off to explore what else was in his basket this year. So glad I had cleaned my floors the day before because he was litterally eating off of them that morning.

The morning was lazy, but fun with just our family.  We did two egg hunts as practice runs with Waylon before he was to do the big hunt with his cousins that night.  Waylon really got the hang of it, but wanted to stay and watch Daddy hide the eggs or he also wanted to tell him exactly where to hide them.  So I guess he really did not get the whole hang of it yet? :-)
Then it was off to Papa Jeff's and Grandma Laura's house. Holy Cow these Easter baskets were like Christmas for the kids.  Hope they know what they have gotten themselves into because Waylon will remember this basket FOREVER!
There was TONS of stuff in here for him, but mostly toys which I was ok with. :-)
Waylon got a huge set of cars with this track and he LOVES playing with the cardboard box it came in as much as he loves those cars.
Connor and Toni also got HUGE baskets.
After getting so many pictures of the babies in the baskets Waylon thought he should get in too.
The looks on these two's faces toward Waylon is just classic.
"Really you think you can fit in here too?"
Then it was off to the Pickard's.  Their yard was absolutely beautiful again this year and we spent almost the whole afternoon outside.
Toni and that special look she gives her daddy.
Waylon counting all his easter eggs from the 40 egg hunt. Not to shabby he found most on his own.
Then there is Grandpa's Tractor. HE LOVES this thing!!

To the Zoo!

Well it is getting closer to summer and so the fun begins.  We headed to the zoo this week before it becomes unbearable out there. This was Toni and Connor's first time and the weather was nice. We arrived about 9:30 and left about 1 and it was a little over 90 degrees when we left.  The hardest part for me was pushing these two kids and all their STUFF around the zoo.  Everything had to be close to 100 lbs.
Toni and Waylon did great.  So glad I had the double stroller and remembered to bring an umbrella too for Waylon because his chair has no cover. Boo!  Both kids did great, not too warm and no sunburns! Yeah!!

Love this picture!
Not only is this a beautiful turkey it so makes me miss the Young's Farm! I wish Waylon would have been able to enjoy that at this age like I did. He has a pretty snazzy umbrella too!

Waylon at the petting zoo.  This was one of the few area's Toni got out and she loved seeing the goats up close!!! Her arms flapped around and she made all kinds of noises as we got closer to them.Waylon really enjoyed sitting with them and brushing them too.

Aunt Courty and Waylon wrestling a croc~

Waylon in the famous shell~so many of us have this shot.

Our tired girl.  She did great and slept a little too.  She talked most of the way home or maybe I should say sang and Waylon crashed out once we dropped off Aunt Courty and Connor.  Nap time was amazing that day as both the kids slept and slept before Caramba's with the family that night. We had to wake Waylon up at 5 so we could leave.
Until next year, bye bye Zoo!

Toni turns 9 Months in Sedona!

Well better late than never, I thought I better get to this before our "little Missy" gets to 10 months. Toni has done several new things this month that we are all very excited about.   The biggest broke through the day before she turned 9 months....
2 teeth at the bottom. Finally we have teeth...!
Look at those beautiful eyes she has... :-)

Toni has begun several new things this month like:
1) No more waking up in the night she is able to soothe herself, find her blanket or binkie and go back to sleep.  She has been doing this for a while and unless she is sick this is the norm for her now, which I love!
2) She is enjoying new snacks and some apple juice too.  She has even had some corn on her own as well. She loves and prefers to feed herself. So this is coming up I am sure this month as I plan her meals for her I will add more finger "mush" for her.
3) She is not pulling herself up yet, but does like to stand at one toy and play around.  However, she does not fall down well. Her whole world falls apart when she lands on that tush of hers.
4) I also Love her super BIG smile and kicks when you go in to get her from her naps and in the AM. She is SOO Happy to see ME.
5) She also claps her hands ALL the time. With her clapping comes a Happy face.
6) We still have not gone to the Dr. yet for her 9 month check up. :-( They seem to have gotten really busy so we are going in a couple of weeks.
I love this one...what a LOOK!
Toni in Sedona watching the boys play on the grass.

Here are the BOYS.  Gavin (4) Hudson (6) and Waylon (3) hanging out in Sedona. Man Hudson looks COOL!
More outside pictures of little Missy while she tries on MaMa's sunglasses...
Another picture I love. Waylon really got a kick out of Hudson being able to read to him this year. He did a great job and Waylon kept saying he can read the book! Great motivator for Waylon as this is one of many things I will be working on this summer with him.
Our FAMILY!
The whole gang that was at Sedona this year!
As always it was so nice in our favorite place in AZ.  This year it truly was amazing as far as weather goes. In the past we have had rain and snow and very rarely are we able to wear shorts the whole weekend. This weekend was a HEAT Wave in the Valley too, so it worked out super to be up north instead.
Happy 9 months Toni Girl we <3 you!
